My Son and His Bible

I’m sure some of you thought when I said I’d be posting a heartwarming series starting “tomorrow,” that I actually would be posting the start of the series within the next 24 hours. Sorry, I should have specified that “tomorrow” means “the day Christina can find enough time to write the first post.” So, so close, but it’s always important to be specific.

Instead, during the time I’d set aside in my mind to write said post, my son is asking if we can read our Bibles at the same time together. This is not a usual occurrence, lest you think we’re the spiritual equivalent to the Brady Bunch. (Ya know, the Berry Bunch?) Instead, him reading a whole chapter last night in bed and taking his Bible to BASKETBALL practice today was strongly influenced by a cute, not very corny, meaningful movie called The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry. If you haven’t seen it, watch it while in a mood to celebrate the simple, yet important, things in life.

Also, I did a live 1-hour radio interview with Julie Gorman this morning. One might describe it as a series of unfortunate events, which began with her latest emails going to my junk folder with the schedule for the interview, echoy lines before the show started, my phone (land line) malfunctioning TWICE, kicking my water over during one such malfunction … which to me says it just might be an interview worth listening to. At times, the more important the message, the bigger the impediments. Listen to my life story and a discussion about The Familiar Stranger.

I’m off to read my Bible with my boy ….

I love you both and am really proud of Josh and his newly renewed walk in the Word.
