A Very Egotisical Post

I did something today … something spur of the moment. Totally out of character. Haven’t done it for at least fourteen years.

In the midst of a usual trim, all of a sudden I mentioned my desire to have bangs. And you know what that stylist did? She cut them!

My friend Nikki has a theory that having bangs takes TEN years off. Truthfully, this worries me a bit. I already looked–or so I’ve been told–a little younger than I am. And, as I’ve mentioned before, I now use my Wii fit age of 28 when anyone asks how old I am. πŸ˜‰ But ten more years off? I would like to ultimately attract a mature man, so I don’t want to look like a kid.

So people, how old do I look? Pretend you know nothing about me and you see one of these pictures. In which age range do you place me?

When I picked up the kids, they all stared and got bigger and bigger grins on their faces. My children have NEVER seen me with bangs. Such a little change, but it makes me look like a different person!

What do you call a stylist who cuts bangs for woman after woman?
(My own joke)

A gang-banger!

I had been resisting making any big changes after the divorce, because I didn’t want them to be reactive instead of proactive. But I’m glad I did this. I think. πŸ™‚ Let me know which of these is your favorite. (It will probably end up as my profile on facebook.)

Or if you think I should grow them out, tell me that too!

Cute! Eric votes photo #2. For fun, I say #5, for professionalism, 6 or 7 (the last two, if I miscounted). You look very approachable-knowledgeable-withit in the last two, and you don’t even have a green nose! πŸ™‚

    The bangs are very cute. And now you’ll have all kinds of new looks, like when you pull the rest of your hair back. And if you want to go punk one day, get some super-stiff gel and make ’em stand up! Just kidding… really, you look very nice :+}

They’re cute! Hair change is a good thing. As changes go, it’s cheap and forgiving.

My vote goes for photo #2. Happy styling!

I love photo #5 for a professional look. It’s still such a surprise to go upstairs to talk to you and see the “new you!” I’m glad you did something fun and spontaneous! Plus it turned out so well.

Love ’em! (I’m biased, though, having them myself.) I think they make your blue eyes really pop!

Got your book in the mail, and looking forward to reading it!

Your hair looks very nice that way! I’m re-reading your book (out-loud to Lisa)! She keeps telling me what she thinks is going on and I tell her “I can neither confirm nor deny your suspicions”. I’m enjoying seeing the set-ups and misdirections I missed in the first reading.

    Christina:
I like #5 and #7. I have had bangs since the 1960’s. I like them. When I get a new person cutting my hair, they never ask me if I want them to grow out. I considered it but I have a rather high forehead.

I love girlie girl posts. Always, always, alwaysβ€”it should be a hard and fast ruleβ€”always post pictures of new hair styles. No embarrassment there.

Now with that said, your bangs look fantastic. Very chic, young, sexy, and hip.

    Love love love them!

Love em! I’m a fan of bangs. Although I think I’m gonna grow mine out for now. I’ve had em too long.

You look beautiful. And I don’t necessarily think bangs make people look younger. It depends on the person. You’ve always looked about 25 to me, though. Still do. πŸ™‚

And what I love about bangs is you can bobby pin them back and get some “change” out of life. At least that’s what I need to do. πŸ™‚

Aw, you guys know how to make a girl feel good about herself. πŸ™‚ Remember, I don’t get those compliments from a soul mate anymore, so you have to substitute! πŸ™‚
