UPS–My Hero!

Yesterday, 250 copies of The Familiar Stranger I purchased myself arrived at my doorstep. I got this random shot of the UPS guy delivering box after box of books. He even posed for a GREAT picture, which I can’t show you because …

I accidentally deleted it while trying to get a good shot of the writing on this wonderful accessory an uncle’s family sent me! Now I can wear both the shirt AND the hat so no one will be confused about who or what I am. 🙂

Seriously, it was an awesome picture of Brown at work. He was SUCH a good sport, I wouldn’t put it past him to be willing to reenact the shot next time he delivers here. I’ll still have the boxes, I’m sure.

I had been down to two copies of the book, so now I can go to local businesses and ask them to carry it. I can send autographed copies to whomever requests ($14.50 to cover the shipping and handling/US only). I can put aside a first edition for each of my children … which will certainly be worth more because of a few typos we’ve found.

You know, I have to confess, I thought the typos would bother me more than they do. I have NO idea how they could have made it through so many edits, but it’s also SO out of my hands. Obviously we can’t do anything about it until the second printing. (Please, Lord, let there be a second printing!)

Michelle Shocklee is taking a break from going through Leviticus to host the next stop of the blog tour on Life Along THE WAY. Interesting … as she was just talking about sexual sins and how nothing is hidden from God. Check it out … leave a comment!

Christina: Congratulations! I am so happy for you. I love the hat; I wonder where they found it?

See, the thing is, people will get so into the beautiful story that they won’t notice silly teepos. 🙂

congratulations! How very exciting! I hope there’s a second printing for you. There was something else I was going to say but I forgot.

    Ashley, lol!

Tamara, moms get to forget what they were going to say all the time. It’s our right! 😉

    Hi Christina –

What fun! I don’t know if I’d think of taking a picture of the UPS guy. Great idea. I’ll file it for future reference. 🙂

The typo thing happened to me with a filler. I guess it’s just a reminder that we’re all human and make mistakes.

    Blessings,
    Susan
