Four Weeks Ago …

I smiled for a quick pic before we left for the hospital. Little did I know what I was in for. [Scary music] What a clueless, happy child I was. And how neat and clean my house. Anyone wondering about Clean Freak Mama should know she split when my ACL did.

I had to do a search of my own blog to find the link to Clean Freak Mama … Do you remember when I used to blog almost every day? and found the perfect picture to illustrate my post? and sounded witty?

Please accept my apologies. What great heights we have fallen from.

Anyway, a few days later I took the dressing off and found this. Yucky! Creepy! Gross! I don’t blame a one of ya if ya never come back to my blog. See the little dot on the upper right? That’s where the pin that went through my knee from the large lower left incision came out!! I’m so glad I was asleep and have no knowledge of what occurred in the operating room. BTW, I’m sitting in this and standing in the next photo, so that accounts for the different angles of my legs.

I seriously considered not posting that post-surgery/before-healing snapshot. But without it, the AFTER photo just doesn’t have the same impact. I find it completely amazing that those three little marks are all I have to show for the pain and agony I’ve gone through in the last four weeks.

I mentioned Scott, my physical therapist, at dinner.

My son wrinkled his forehead. “Who’s Scott?”

“The man who hurts Mommy’s leg twice a week.” Ow!

No, it’s not been that bad, but it’s a slow recovery for one tiny little fall on my tush.

I’ll be back to read what you wrote later. Just seeing the pix is enough for now.

It hurts just looking at the picture…sorry you had to suffer so much… Hope you are feeling better more each day. I had spinal surgery when I was a teenager and my Gramma told me that I would wake up one day and the pain of surgery would be gone and you know what she was right…

It is amazing how small incisions can lead to BIG healing inside.

Blessings for a quick recovery, my hurt-knee friend. We shall prevail!!!!

    Okay, I’m back. Whew.

You’re forgiven for the lack of blog postings. I’m sure having a knee that looked like THAT would cause anyone to be less than witty. But, actually, I’m glad you posted it. (Now that I’ve recovered from seeing it.) Poor Left. I feel like we’ve bonded these past three months. Be sure and show us an “All Better!!” shot when that day comes. SOON. Hopefully. : )
