Ten Reasons to Keep Reading My Blog

Some of you might not read the blogger comments, but I must call attention to some nonsense that went on yesterday.

It all started when the gorgeous Tammy Bowers–click to see Tammy age beautifully over 25 years–threatened to boycott my blog. She said this, in part, about me: “You speak French now too? On my stars! You’re a fantastic writer, a math whiz, a purple belt in Taekwan-do, thin and beautiful, and now you speak fluent French. I just can’t handle it. Yeah, I think I must go on protest.”

Donna Fleisher fanned the flames with this comment: “Plus … she has the most gorgeous hubby (coveting and envious), the two most adorable children (well, except when they have knives in their hands or rats on their heads), the totally coolest mum and pop (who she can actually stand to live with — happily!!), two very cool black goofy labs, a cool cat, and …. oh, and friends who absolutely adore her! ; )”

Thankfully, Debbie M. had the good sense to point out this: “Oh, come on, you guys…what about her knobby knees??!!”

To all of this, I have one thing to say and one thing only: My nails are extremely strong and never break. I have to clip them to keep them from talonizing. So take that. 🙂

No, really, to nip this thing in the bud, I present Ten Reasons to Keep Reading my Blog.

1. I can read French and I can write it, but I’m definitely not fluent. I have to translate each line in my head before speaking. My professor would always get on me about my crummy accent, mais c’est la vie.

2. I only have to think about touching my face and I break out.

3. I’m getting stretch marks in my underarms from using the crutches.

4. I may never make it to my black belt because of this injury.

5. My knees are really, really, really knobby. (Worth repeating, as they are SO knobby.)

6. My eighth grade school picture. My contacts had not sterilized the night before–these were the days of plug-in electronic sterilizers–so I had to wear my goofy glasses. I woke up late and had no chance to curl my hair. I dressed in sweats as I didn’t have time to pick clothes. Arrived at school to discover it’s PICTURE DAY. I’ll see if I can find this and scan it in, but this is reason enough not to boycott.

7. I still have a hacking cough.

8. My husband says I spend way to much time emailing, checking email, blogging, and reading blogs.

9. We’ll be announcing a HUGE contest having to do with our newsletter and you won’t want to miss it!

10. I’m the agent/editor liaison–oh, a French word!–for the OCW Summer Conference. Who do you dream of meeting? I will take your recommendation under consideration if you leave your top picks for magazine and book editors or agents in the comments. I’ll pass them by the committee. If approved, I’ll issue an invitation to the agent/editor to attend the conference.

And thanks, you gals, for making a gimpy, hacking girl’s day. :0)

Hey! Now there’s a reason for visiting your blog! That’s a very informative comment there!! Ooops … though … is it in French and is a secret message that you really can understand? (My apologies.)

    ; )

(You can delete this comment when you delete that one. Oh, and by the way, Left told me it was okay to post her mug on my blog. Just so you know. So you can’t sue me or anything. Right will probably say it’s okay too, as soon as she wakes up from her nap.)

Wow! I was off on assignments yesterday and missed all the fun??? 😉

I have been reading and laughing and praying for your poor knee. Unfortunately, something about the browser at work (read while assignments are being proofed) has gone whacko and closes out when I try to leave comments anymore. 🙁

Hey! One of my fave songs is on…”Friends.”

Anywho, wanted to let ya know this friend is still reading….

    In Christ,
    Jennie
