Black Friday Poem

Twas the day after turkey
And all through the house
Were the memories of yesterday
With Kinfolk and Spouse.
The taters and stuffing
Were heaped up in bowls.
The corn and zucchini
And butterflake rolls.
Then apple and pumpkin
And coconut pies.
We knew that the calories
Went right to our thighs.
But love was abundant
And laughter was rife
And we all thanked our God
For this wonderful life.

Written by my grandma, Shirley Smith. I think. I’m using it without her permission because it’s too late at night to ask her, but I wanted to share it. However, this post might jump away if a) she didn’t write it or b) she doesn’t share well.
