Are You a Good Fit for a Fitbit?

I have found the best Christmas present out there. It’s reasonably priced, versatile, durable, easy to use, and super cool …

The Fitbit.

And it finally solved the mystery of what those little pockets inside the pockets on jeans are for.

Fitbit clipped in tiny jean pocket

Yes, it may be too late for this Christmas to GIVE as a gift, but you can use your Christmas money to BUY one for yourself. This little gadget tracks your steps, calories burned, miles walked, and tells time. I first heard of it in a Parade Magazine article in which the author mentioned wearing it in her bra. Though my fitness-loving husband doesn’t wear a bra, it still sounded like a great birthday present for him.

One thing I love about this little thing is that you don’t have to be an extreme athlete to use it. Say your exercise is the walk from the parking lot to your office or to the fridge from the couch. The Fitbit will tempt you to do more because you’ll want to hit that 10,000-steps-a-day goal. Or at least beat what you did yesterday. You can track calorie intake, view your day in graphed activity, challenge each other in messages, and earn badges, too.

But one of the BEST things about Fitbit is their customer service. Nothing makes me want to trumpet a product more than great, personal, quick service. Through a series of unfortunate events that started with our second-story shower leaking onto our downstairs kitchen island and ended with us in jammies searching a parking lot in below-freezing temps just before midnight, Dave’s Fitbit got ran over. And it broke. It was an UNFitbit. 🙁

We contacted Costumer Service through the website that night and had a reply the next morning. Even though we explained that the device  broke because of our own fault, they sent a new Fitbit and even joked about how soon it would arrive in the response.

Can you tell that I highly recommend this product? Let me know if you get one!
